Professional Fishing Guide

Cal McCarthy

Cal grew up in Ketchum Idaho, where he found a fly rod in his hands at the age of 4. Thanks to his father's appreciation of the outdoors. With time this obsession with the outdoors and flinging feathers hasn’t faltered, Cal spends most waking moments outside and thinking about fooling fish. With time and practice he found a knack for it, and has been sharing that knack in putting anglers on exceptionally large trout for 3 years. Tying his own flies and spending 200+ days a year on the water sets this young man's skills apart from most any angler. One of his specialties is the casting stroke, and is able to teach anything from a roll cast, to the double haul, to casting an entire fly line. While also having been a snowboard instructor for 5 years, Cal is adept at working with guests to get the most out of their adventure and is simply excited to share the surrounding watershed. A flexible and goal oriented guide, Cal gets results while sharing a plethora of information and having a good time while doing it.
