Paul (Pablo) Russell

Paul was born and raised in Michigan.  Since he was able to walk he learned to appreciate the wonders of the great outdoors especially fishing.  After a family vacation to colorado he realized the mountains would be his home.  After graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in biology/biochemistry he decided a stuffy lab room was not for him and moved to Steamboat to "try" guiding for a year.  That was 1995.  In 2003 he started Yampa River Outfitters.  Paul is still as passionate about fishing as the first time he caught a fish and the first guide trip he ever took.  He lives and breathes fishing.  He is an accomplished fly tyer, a patient teacher, and a joy to be with on the water.  Paul is a SAGE elite member, a SIMMS ambassador, a Scientific Anglers pro staff member, and he teaches entomology at the local college.  A day on the water with Paul is a day you won't soon forget!
