Dan Ryan

Dan was born and raised in central Illinois. His interest in fishing began at the age of 5 with his grandfather Chuck on lakes around his hometown fishing for blue gill, bass, catfish and crappie. Like Pablo, after a vacation in the 80’s to Colorado, he knew that somehow, someway he would eventually live in this great state. He attended Southern Illinois University and studied Recreation and fished as much as possible in the lakes and rivers surrounding the town of Carbondale. He moved to Colorado in 1997 to finish his internship in the town of Telluride. Dan worked at Telski, and that is when he first picked up a fly rod and has never looked back. He lives to be outdoors and loves the pursuit of trophy trout. He has fished all over the state in the pursuit of all varieties of trout. In his opinion, the Elk and Yampa river valleys are the best place in Colorado to pursue this activity. He enjoys fishing with anglers of every skill level. Dan is on the Pro teams of SIMMS, SAGE, Fishpond and Costa and encourages all his clients to use their gear when fishing with him.
